Here's a wacky idea I've suggested a
few times, but haven't gotten anyone to
run with it. Maybe it's impractical,
but I'd like to see some adventurous
(or gullible) dancer try it:
Buy a big mess of small inexpensive
bells, then -- using an electronic
tuner -- sort them into piles according
to which note they are (probably
without even caring which octave
they're in). Once you've done that,
choose two notes that sound good
together and attach a few bells of each
note, to each hip of your dance outfit,
and see if you can make each group
sound independently.
If that works, you might be able to add
a few more notes by attaching more
groups of bells from different piles,
to different parts of your clothes.
I honestly have no idea if this would work,
but figured it was worth tossing out for
discussion.
